The 8th Battalion, The Gordon Highlanders were converted to an Artillery Regiment, becoming the 100th Light Anti-Aircraft/Anti Tank Regiment of the
Royal Artillery and served with 2nd Infantry Division in Burma. They were involved in the battles at Kohima.
